Jesus' ancestors prepare us to recognise Him and to receive Him. This includes Jesus' ancestor David. A king who was given a remarkable promise by God. One of David's ancestor would sit upon his throne and reign forever. Who would this be? Many kings came and went, but it is only in Jesus that we see God's promised fulfilled!Jesus is the Kings of kings. The King without compare. The King who would serve us. The King like no other who would die for us. The King who would save us from our sins!
